True happiness

After taking a red eye flight from SF to Miami on this Sunday night, 4 hours of layover in Miami before taking a flight to Caracas, capital of Venezuela, 5 hours of layover there before taking a flight to Cumana, a small city in Venezuela, I finally arrived late Monday night here at Cumana… It was a rather long and exhausting traveling… 3 flights in a day is too much for me… I think I am definitely getting old…^^

It has been already 5 years since I visited here at Cumana Venezuela where missionary Chung and his wife has been serving for the past 30 years, planting 7 churches. 5 years passed and yet I notice very subtle differences here at Cumana… not much changes… maybe few more new houses and cars… the same atmosphere of country side and lay back life style of people…

After retiring from pastoring and planting those 7 churches few years ago, missionary Chung started a seminary to raise godly Christian leaders for this country. And he has been putting all his energy and time to run the seminary. I am sure that there has been many difficulties of recruiting seminary professors, but the missionary Chung has never given up… as a result, I could see the fruit of people coming to seminary, getting educated, and being sent to every corner of the city to spread the Good News in Christ.

Having to teach an intensive seminary course here for the past few days kept me busy (not much time to slack off^^) but one thing that I have noticed the most is the smiles of missinary Chung and his wife as they serve me and people who come to the class… They truly seemed to enjoy what they do, serving God and His people…

I mean you would think that the missionary couple could just relax now after serving 30 years here at Venezulea (come on, give me a break… the missionary Chung is 70 years old and his wife and 69 years old, way passing a retiring age) and yet they are still keep on going…

I mean you would think that the missnary couple could look for more comfort life by going back to USA where his two children and 4 grandchildren live. They could well be with their children and grandchildren and could enjoy more comfortable life in USA…

And yet they chose to be here… away from family and comfort for the sole purpose of caring and loving people of Venezuela… You wonder what life is all about and what true happiness is all about… Once more, I am convinced that true happiness is NOT in money or comfortable life but in living a life filled with purpose, the purpose of loving God and loving people…

Alright folks! Hope your week is going great!

I will be returning to the State on this Sat. night and will certainly look foward to see you all on this Sunday!

Have the Purpose filled the rest of the week!

Blessings from Cumana,Venezuela!
