True friendship

What a wonderful 5th anniversary celebration was! All this week, I have been thinking about what an awesome coordinations & presentations of the event that brought much joy to frineds and families who came and joined the celebration (those of you who couldn’t make defnitely missed out^^) So, I would like to say once more “thanks” to all of you for your support, making our 5th anniversary event meaningful.

One of the impt. aspects that I take away from the event is that there has been good friendship that have been forged over the 5 years of time frame here at NCMC. Some of the guests called my wife and I as “true friends” no matter where they are in their lives… and I am thinking that is what I’d consider “the fruit” of ministry here at NCMC. I feel confident that we have built good friendship over the years and this friendship is a life long.. On a personal level, to me, it is more than pastor and church member relationship… it is ever lasting friendship that would share joy and sadness of lives together… Even last night, one of our old EM members who now works in Hong Kong (you will have to guess hard who he is^^) arrived in SF for a business trip and the first thing he did was to call my wife and I and took us for a nice dinner…. Again, I felt it is friendship that we have in Christ, more so than just pastor and member relationship…

We are reminded that even Jesus didn’t call Himself to be our pastor or teacher but rather a friend, a friend of ours… You wonder why Jesus wanted friendship over any other type relationships… To me, it is because of the level of intimacy that we share as friends and we are willing to go extra miles for each other…

So, moving forward, believe it or not, that would be my focus here at NCMC that we are here to build a life long friendship in Christ, a true sacficial relationship of sharing sufferings and glory of lives together in Him!

Alright folks! Hope your week is going great!

Will look forward to see you all on this weekend, if all possible!

Have the true Friendship filled the rest of the week!

Blessings,

PT
